Our Services

What We Offer

ICE works with many of the top clinical research hospitals and universities in the United States.  We have the experience and portfolio of services required to assist our clients meet their reporting and publication needs. Our standard workflow consists of requesting medical records from providers, performing clinical data abstraction, and sending this data to our clients.

We are experienced in working with data use agreements and business associate agreements. We supply our clients with complete security plans to satisfy their internal review board requests.

Data abstraction projects require several processes to be completed before production abstraction can begin.  While any of these services can be purchased individually, they are normally part of the standard data workflow.

Clinical Data Abstraction

Clinical data abstraction is the process of pulling specific medical data from a patient medical record, also known as chart review. Our staff is trained on each data element being collected. This training is performed in parallel with our customer and results from the training phase are compared and evaluated.

Clinical Module Development

For projects requiring medical record abstraction services the first step is for an abstraction tool to be created. ICE develops custom clinical module abstraction tools specific to your data collection needs. The process starts with using a clients paper tool.

Confidential Data Redaction

Frequently as part of the training and evaluation processes it is necessary to redact records. ICE is experienced at medical record acquisition and subsequent redaction services. If your project requires the use of redacted information look no further than Information Collection Enterprises.

Medical Record Acquisition

Several health care laws are in place to protect patient confidentiality. Acquiring medical records from any provider or physician office requires significant approval processes. Laws like the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and The Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act place a burden on the research community to validate how all patient data will be handled, who will handle it, and what measures will be taken to protect the data.

Litigation Support
